Monday, 10th February was the first proper bit of snow fall of winter around here. We've had a few overnight dustings of course, before and since, but so far this has been the one and only proper covering of the season and with so much wet and windy weather, it could be all the snow we see this winter, who knows?!
I'd had a meeting at head office in the morning but was so glad I was home in time to get out for a walk in the snow
The next morning the snow was still lying, well, some of it was, and a little more fell through the morning. We had a Wildlings session on the Roaches. We went out with all the usual kit but sadly, no little people came to join us (we were hoping the snow would tempt them out!)
Not too worry though, us three grown up children had a lovely morning outdoors!
I felt so lucky that not only did I get some very fresh (❄️❄️) air and time outdoors in the snow that morning, I actually got paid to be there. I love this job!! *
Have you seen any snow yet this winter?
*Disclaimer, it's not always good of course and it's definitely not all play! The last week - one very wet and windy half term - is a case in point... day after day of cold and wet, taking sopping wet kit back after every session and spreading it wherever we could to dry out (I can't remember the last time we had a dry kit session to be honest!), with what was described as "tarpageddon" in one of the classrooms towards the end of the week 😂

Snowdrops at Rode Hall
A no plans Sunday this weekend and, for a change, I was keen to get out and do something!!
I visited Rode Hall to see the snowdrops. I feel I was still a little early, I don't think they were all flowering yet, but there were still plenty out after such a mild winter. I don't think I need to say a lot in the post so I'll just let you enjoy the photos...
I was very surprised to see daffodils at the start of February. These were in a bit of a sheltered spot. I've seen lots of daffodil shoots this month, just an inch or two poking through the ground, but nothing like these anywhere else!
I thought this was a nice way to display a few snowdrops, hanging from an arch in the walled garden...
This weekend, rather like last weekend, is a good excuse for staying indoors with all the stormy weather. Time to rest and catch up, crossing a few things off my very long 'to do' list.
