Shining Tor

Scenes from Sunday's Walk, along the Derbyshire / Cheshire border up Cats Tor and Shining Tor...










Down over the moor and through Stake Clough.


As you can see from the photo above, it's driven grouse moor around here so - aside from heather and red grouse - it's a pretty barren landscape.









I met this pheasie sitting on a tree stump, and strangely, he just sat and stared at me instead of the usual panicked take off!

Errwood Reservoir

I took the path via the ruins of Errwood Hall and headed back up hill to the car.









Worth getting outside for, a very pleasant seven mile walk.
