Whilst my dinner cooked last night, I made up another batch of bird food and this morning I took it outside...
As soon as it was out, robins, blackbirds and tits came down to feast.
A starling too - still a novelty as it's only this year that I've seen starlings around the garden and feeders regularly.
The sparrows stayed in the trees, not tempted down by my offerings.
Later on, the sky clouded over
It remained very cold all day, with a covering of ice on this puddle at lunchtime, trapping the grass beneath.
