I was asked to help Derbyshire Wildlife Trust with an event today... it was called wintering wildlife and as well as promoting hedgehogs as part of the Wildlife Trusts current hedgehog campaign, we were also making 'birdy binoculars' and directing families to a nearby nature reserve to try them out.

It was a really quiet day though, we only had 4 children come to do our nature crafts. I made my own clay hedgehog who I named Spike, so Horace, who I made at Wildplay in February...
now has a friend. I didn't take a photo of Spike though, but he looks something like the ones in this photo...

Lovely - haven't seen a hedgehog in our garden for ages and no signs of them either for a couple of years:)
